Jimmy Sackett

JimmyGrowing up I didn’t know Jesus. It wasn’t until I was in rehab at my home town mission at the age of 18 when I started to know him. Six months later I was out of rehab. I had a job, I had a house, I had a car, and I knew Jesus; life was good. As time went on things started happening, and I fell away from God. I started drinking  and after an accident I ended up using heroin. This past year I tried many times to quit on my own but couldn’t do it. A few weeks after my 25th birthday having sold the rest of my stuff I had two options left, get help or die. That’s when I called my cousin, Troy and he told me about his time at U-Turn for Christ Tennessee. Read more…

DalePastor Kevin, & Church,

I’ve been sitting in my room this morning and was lead by the Spirit to write you all with gratitude and love. I feel that it is time for me to share with you all how much your love and support for me changed my life. I came and went from Gold Hill, Oregon with one purpose and that was to be freed from the bondage of drug abuse. Thanks to the availability of the U-Turn ministry the freedom I speak of has become a reality, Amen! Read more…

John Gelb

John GelbI’ve been at U-turn for 6 months, and have to say that it’s been the most important 6 months of my life. I’ve found that through fellowship at U-Turn for Christ Oregon I can have hope for what I’ve missed my whole life, and that to live is to live God’s will doing what He has for me to do. I’ve always done fairly well for myself but I have had lows with booze and drugs. I have always been able get on my feet again but something is not there; something is not right. Read more…

I was raised in Coos-Bay by a loving Grandmother. My father left when I was young, and mom could never learn to cope with that. As a teenager, I moved to my dads, and that’s when it all changed. I started drinking and drugging. When I was 17 I was awarded fifteen years in prison for taking another man’s life. After release from prison I met my ex and we planned Cody. Life was good, until I started drinking and using. After all was said and done, I lost them and tried to come home to Oregon. But even in my unbelief of God, he stilled believed in me, and put a stop on me in this area almost two years ago. Read more…

Rev 3:1  “And to the angel of the church in Sardis write, ‘These things says He who has the seven Spirits of God and the seven stars: “I know your works, that you have a name that you are alive, but you are dead.

So has been my existence for much of my life. A void that no hopeless prayer, drug or silence could fill, continuously lingered no matter how good or bad my life seemed to be. The absence of a true relationship with God had slowly disassembled the person I had hoped to be. What remained was hardly recognizable. My time at U-Turn has been brief (just 3 weeks), but I already feel the Lord blessing me with an open ear, and a ready heart. Read more…

I’m 23 years old and have been at U-Turn for about 4 months . It has changed my life and showed me the light in a dark world. I grew up in a good family going to church and youth group my whole life, but as I got into high school I started fulfilling the desires of the flesh. I turned completely away from God’s will. After about four years of opiate addiction I knew the only place to turn was God, I just didn’t know how to make such a drastic change in my life. Thankfully, U-Turn for Christ was there for me. Read more…
